Tuesday afternoon, Twitter banned Ricky Vaughn, one of the biggest and most influential figures on the alt-right. While we don’t know if Ricky’s suspension is permanent (he’s stated that he will appeal), Twitter’s willingness to censor a hugely influential figure—Ricky had nearly 100,000 followers prior to being banned and has been ranked as one of the 150 top election influencers in the 2016 presidential race by MIT—shows both that they’re running scared of us and are willing to wreck their bottom line to keep the truth from coming out.
As I’ve reported recently, Twitter has been harassing and censoring right-wing users in an attempt to protect Hillary Clinton. While they’ve banned high-profile dissident right figures such as Milo Yiannopoulos and Chuck Johnson in the past, their harassment has stepped up in the past month as Hillary’s poll numbers have flatlined and the reality of a Donald Trump presidency becomes ever more evident. I’ve already been shadowbanned from Twitter due to my reports on the DNC and Guccifer 2.0 leaks.
As Pax Dickinson predicted earlier this year, Twitter is inevitably going to ban all right-wingers from their site, including me. If you want to stay in touch with me after I get banished, you’ll need to do it in other ways. Here are the other methods by which you can follow my work (beyond checking this blog, of course):
Sign up for my mailing list: If you sign up for my mailing list, you’ll receive biweekly updates highlighting my best articles, and you’ll also get to hear about my latest projects before anyone else. I will never sell your information or spam you; I usually don’t send more than two to three emails a month, and I’ve never sent more than five or six. You can sign up for my mailing list by clicking here or filling out the form at the end of this post.
Follow me on Gab: As I wrote last week, Gab is a new, Twitter-like social networking platform that values free speech. Many major dissident right figures, such as Mike Cernovich, Chuck Johnson and Ricky himself, are already on it. You can follow me on Gab here; because the site is in beta, you’ll need to get on the waiting list before you can register an account.
Subscribe to my YouTube channel: My YouTube channel features all of my videos, and if you subscribe to it, you’ll be able to watch new videos before I post them on the blog. Check out my channel here.
Subscribe to my SoundCloud page: My SoundCloud page features every episode of The Matt Forney Show as well as This Alt-Right Life, the podcast I do for Right On. Subscribe here.
I also have an alternate Twitter account, @onemattforney. It will probably be banned along with my main account, but it’s still there. You can follow it here.
Stay tuned as this story develops.
P.S. Writing is my day job. I have no other sources of income, and independent reporting costs money. Getting banned from Twitter will significantly impact my ability to make a living and get the truth out.
