It’s been two months since I was actively covering the presidential race, and it’s about time for me to hit the road again.
In the past week, I’ve extensively covered and analyzed the recent Guccifer 2.0 DNC leaks, uncovering credit card fraud, election fraud, and insider trading on the part of the Democrats, among other things. Thing is, my journalistic projects not only cost money, they take away valuable time I need to do things that make money. The more time I dedicate to reporting on the news and doing the job the mainstream media won’t, the less time I have to work on projects that actually pay my bills.
I hope you can read between the lines and realize why I’m urgently asking for your help.
In addition, there are three projects—one short-term, one medium-term, and one long-term—that I’m asking for your help with.
1. Covering the second presidential debate in St. Louis on October 9.
Inspired by Mike Cernovich’s plan to cover protests outside the first presidential debate in New York, I want to head to St. Louis to report on the scene outside the second debate. St. Louis is only a 4-5 hour drive from Chicago, and it also happens to be in the vicinity of swing states Iowa and Colorado, allowing me to possibly cover other campaign events as part of the same trip.
My coverage will consist of Periscope/YouTube videos and articles for my blog and Right On, same as I’ve done throughout the campaign. (See these links for archives of my work covering the primary elections in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York and Indiana, as well as the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. You can also find more examples of my journalistic work here.)
I’ve estimated a budget of $500 for this trip, which will cover transportation (car rental, gas, tolls, taxis etc.), lodging, food and miscellaneous expenses. I need to make my goal by Wednesday, September 28. In the event that I can’t cover the second presidential debate because Hillary Clinton dies during the first one, I will refund donors on request and repurpose funds towards another election-related project. You can view my progress towards my goal in the fundraising thermometer in the sidebar.
2. Covering the National Policy Institute’s conference in November.
NPI is holding their autumn conference on November 19, and given that Hillary has named the alt-right—and Pepe the Frog—as enemies of the state (and given the likelihood of a Donald Trump landslide), the conference is going to be one of the biggest events of the year. Additionally, given the antifa presence at NPI’s autumn conference last year, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for me to film stupid hippies doing stupid shit. I’ve attended both of NPI’s and AmRen’s last two conferences, and given their increasing popularity, I need to be on the scene to chronicle what happens.
I haven’t estimated a complete budget for this trip (which is why I haven’t included it in the thermometer), but tickets to NPI’s main event on Saturday, November 19 are currently $225, while the Friday and Sunday events are $88 and $75 respectively (millennial pricing). I’ll also need to factor in transportation (car rental + gas + tolls/plane ticket, subway fare, taxis etc.) and lodging.
3. Covering the migrant crisis in Europe.
After the election is over, my next project is to relocate to Hungary to document the migrant crisis and the rise of European nationalism in a series of videos, articles, and eventually a book. There’s a dearth of English-language journalism on how the refugee invasion is tearing Europe apart, and tackling this story is the next logical step after my work on the presidential campaign.
Given the scale and scope of this project—it’ll involve me moving to Europe for the foreseeable future, and will require me to learn local languages, recruit translators and travel extensively around the continent—I’m still working out most of the details. However, I’m currently studying Hungarian and trying to sublet my apartment in Chicago, so it’s a matter of when this will happen, not if. I’ll provide more details when I’ve hammered them out.
Many of you reading this are here because you enjoyed my work on the DNC leaks. However, I can’t afford to work for free. Nobody in the alternative media can. We’re facing down a government-media complex that has nearly unlimited resources to spread their lies, yet most of us operate on shoestring budgets and rely on word of mouth to spread our ideas. I’m proud of the fact that I can produce more honest and entertaining coverage of major news events for a fraction of the cost of MSM coverage, but without support from my readers, I can’t provide any coverage at all.
Put simply, if you’re getting value out of my work, I need your help to keep doing it. Big or small, $1 or $100, whatever you can spare helps me get the truth out.
